Student Affairs

Student Affairs Wordle

The student affairs area provides leadership for the development and implementation of policies related to student life outside of the classroom.

We provide consultation and guidance to campus administrators to assist them in complying with numerous federal and state statutes and regulations, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Campus Security Act, and Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act.

We also represent the system at the Legislature on issues related to students. During the recent legislative sessions these issues have included a bill on mandatory immunization for Hepatitis C, changes to the state Data Practices Act, an amendment to a statute on hazing policies, and issues related to international students.

In addition, the student affairs unit has responsibility for managing college and university transition issues of Assessment and ELL/ESL working in a cross functional mode with P-20 Collaboration transition- related issues.
