Academic Innovations
The Academic Innovations Department within the Division of Academic and Student Affairs has a range of responsibilities from policy initiation to development and implementation of innovative electronic academic services. Areas of responsibility for Academic Programs include:
- Electronic degree audit reporting system and transfer articulation (DARS) and the statewide collaboration system with the University of Minnesota for student program and course planning (CAS)
- eReferences provides information on the Library systems, (both the state MnLINK project for library automation and gateway, and the MnSCU/PALS server/help desk for academic, public, state and K-12 libraries in the PALS system
- eResources provides resources to assist faculty, staff and administrators of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities to develop and implement online programs and services.
- Minnesota Online, the collaborative of campuses and the Office of the Chancellor to provide access to online programs, courses and services
- eFolioMinnesota, the electronic portfolio system for students, educators and career workers in the state
- eTranscript, the electronic transcripting project being implemented in collaboration with the University of Minnesota
Academic Innovations works in partnership with many other departments within the Office of the Chancellor as well as the system colleges and universities in the development and implementation of projects, policies and procedures. These activities are conducted via committees, task forces, workgroups and other means to produce effective systems for student success.
