Student Affairs/Diversity and Equity Professional Development Conference
The annual Student Affairs/Diversity and Equity Conference is scheduled for February 27-28, 2014 at the Minneapolis Boulevard Hotel (formerly the Crowne Plaza Hotel) in Brooklyn Center. There is no charge to attend the conference, but travel, lodging and meals other than those provided during the conference are the responsibility of the colleges and universities. Each college and university may send up to 10 attendees each day of the conference. If you wish to attend the conference, please request this through your CSAO, who is being asked to send an attendance list to the system office.
At this time we are soliciting presentation proposals for the conference. Proposals for sessions focusing on access, affordability, retention and completion will be especially welcomed, as will sessions describing efforts to redesign or improve developmental education. We are also specifically soliciting sessions dealing with student mental health and suicide prevention. However, sessions dealing with other aspects of student affairs or equity and diversity will also be considered. Please submit a one-page narrative description of your proposed presentation including the names of the presenters (no more than four!). In addition, please provide a brief description (about 50 words) of the session for the conference booklet. Proposals should be sent to Monica Surrency no later than January 15, 2014. If you have any questions about the conference or about proposals, please contact Mike Lopez.
